They require a scanner interface for a ticketing system, and since I don't know any higher level languages (C) and any of the GUI languages (GTK) I'm making a simple web page that will use AJAX to load information on the ticket. In another project I'm working on, the administrative interface uses some AJAX at the request of the client. It works well. I'm also using a lot of AJAX in a personal project, mainly for auto-completion of forms (like Google Suggest).
