From ben at atlphp.org Sat Mar 4 13:40:29 2006 From: ben at atlphp.org (Ben Ramsey) Date: Sat, 04 Mar 2006 13:40:29 -0500 Subject: [atlphp-talk] Zend Framework Message-ID: <4409DF1D.70807@atlphp.org> I thought I would point out that the Zend Framework was released in a "preview" form yesterday: http://framework.zend.com/ If you're just interested in the docs, I've got them up on my server, but don't link to these since they'll either move, or I'll take them down in the next month or so. http://stage.benramsey.com/zend/documentation/end-user/ http://stage.benramsey.com/zend/documentation/api/ It looks to me like the End User documentation ("Programmer's Reference Guide") contains some class definitions that no longer exist (i.e. Zend_Db_DataObject), though the API definitely looks up-to-date. There are also some examples in the download, and, apparently, http://devzone.zend.com/ is using the framework to drive the site. It's been out for about a month now as a preview release, and I thought about compiling some of the resources around the net and stepping through the framework with a "how-to" guide for using it. Perhaps we can see how to create a blog with it, since that seems to be the popular tutorial of choice for most frameworks. :-) Thoughts? But I've got a lot on my plate as it is, so I'll be there and might be able to through in some tidbits but nothing grand. I've actually been meaning to look at the framework, but I've only been able to glance at it and look at the examples provided. Still fairly new to PHP (and very new to the group!) So anything I could see on it would be great. Comments? Ben, That sounds great. Are you still planning on discussing the "group project"? Just a reminder if you're attending the meeting - we welcome anyone with a tip or trick to share. It can be anything from something as quick and simple as an application shortcut to a fully described tutorial with source samples. You'll at least get described in the meeting minutes and if you have sites or source to post, we'll link to you. Who knows what you might learn from others? Thanks!
